T.P.I.

Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) was started by Dr. Greg Rose and golf professional Dave Phillips. Dave and Greg saw the need for synthesis between the golf professional, fitness trainer, and therapist to allow the golfer to achieve the most efficient swing possible and to improve physically. This would include injury prevention as well as dealing with some of the chronic problems and pain areas in golf.
The TPI system has been incorporated as part of the Titleist gold and their facility hosts top pros on a daily basis.
Rose and Phillips identified the most common swing flaws, and then devised a screening test for the muscles that are related to swing faults. This testing is known as Selective Functional Movement Assessment. The TPI physical evaluation will look at all the major golf muscle groups and determine weak and nonfunctioning areas. We address all aspects of golf fitness, including strength, stability, mobility, cardio, balance, posture, coordination, core strength, and power.
The certified instructors are put though a rigorous test for consistent quality control. Once these areas are identified, the proper functional movement exercises can be presented to correct the problem. Swaying, casting, sliding, hanging back, etc. can be addressed and fixed. If you don’t test, then it’s just a guess!
All the pros know they need to be in top shape for peak performance. Fitness is a part of ongoing training and we have seen some of our best results with middle aged and senior golfers. The increase in strength and range of motion is noticeable and significant and directly affects your game.
How many times does your golf professional want you to get the club “here” but you can’t physically do it? The nexus now brings physical conditioning on par with instruction, mental conditioning and equipment. The team approach gets the player in top playing shape for now and the future. The philosophy is to achieve the most efficient swing that one can physically do, retaining individuality and precision.
We also use the SFMA to increase performance, strength, agility, and balance for all sports, such as running, dual and tri athletes, soccer, lacrosse, swimming, equestrian, and more. SFMA is also suitable for all ages.
